Why We Built This Site
Louisiana opens a great deal of public business to inspection, but the hard part is knowing which office keeps the record you need. A warrant does not sit in one place. The court that signs it sets the charge and the bond, while the sheriff's office is the agency that serves it and can say whether it is still outstanding. A warrant that follows a missed court date stays with the court that set the case, and that may be a justice of the peace or the Napoleonville Mayor's Court rather than the district court.
Louisiana also has no public statewide warrant lookup, so no single query pulls every open order. That is how people end up checking one office, seeing a blank result, and assuming they are clear. This site gathers the verified routes in one place: the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office public portal and its Current Warrants search, the Assumption Parish Clerk of Court records desk, the Twenty-Third Judicial District Court in Napoleonville, the three justice-of-the-peace ward offices, and Napoleonville City Hall for village matters. A search that comes back empty at one counter is a limited result, not proof that no order exists.
Access itself runs through the Louisiana Public Records Law, La. R.S. 44:1 et seq. That law gives an adult the right to inspect or copy a public record, and it requires the office that holds the record to answer a written request within five days, not counting weekends and legal holidays. It does not open everything. Pending investigations, sealed matters, juvenile records, and some operational files stay closed, and an office that withholds a record has to state a written legal basis for doing so.
Note: office addresses, phone numbers, and portal links on this site were checked in September 2026 and can change without notice.
What You Will Find Here
Each page takes one record question and the offices that answer it, so you can start at the right counter:
- Outstanding status: what makes a warrant outstanding in Assumption Parish and how the sheriff's Current Warrants list is filled
- Warrant lookups: how to run a warrant lookup by name and date of birth through the sheriff and the courts
- Missed court dates: how a bench warrant search works and which court holds the order
- Charges and arrests: where an arrest warrant search record comes from once a charge is filed
- Traffic matters: why a traffic warrant search can belong to a different court than a criminal case does
- Village ordinance cases: what the municipal warrant route covers in Napoleonville's Mayor's Court
- Public lists: how the sheriff's most wanted list differs from a searchable warrant database, and how tips are routed
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. We have no connection to the Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office, the clerk of court, the district court, or any state agency. The limits are real:
- We cannot run an official warrant check or tell anyone whether a warrant exists
- We cannot remove, recall, quash, or clear a warrant in any system
- We cannot accept a payment toward a warrant, a fine, or a bond
- We cannot arrange a surrender, a court date, or a walk-through at the courthouse or the detention center
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a particular charge applies to a particular person
- We cannot promise that every phone number, hour, or listing on this site is current right now
Whether an order is still open, or has already been recalled, is a question only the court that signed it or the sheriff's office holding it can answer. Our job is to point you to the right counter, not to hand you a status.
Search Partners
A few pages here carry search boxes run by outside companies. Those providers set their own prices and run their own services. When a lookup leads to a paid signup, we may earn a referral fee, and that revenue keeps this site free to read. We do not control what they charge or what their results contain, and a hit from one of those tools is not an official warrant check with any Assumption Parish office.
