Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
When you run a search here, whatever you enter, whether a name, a birth date, or another detail, is sent straight to the outside company that powers that lookup. The company carries out the query and returns the results. On our side, no log of what you typed is kept.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Messages you email to us are stored so we can write back to you. They stay inside our team, and they are not handed to anyone outside our organization unless the law obligates us to do so.
Data We Gather Automatically
Every page load produces a small set of technical details that our servers record:
- Your device type and the operating system it runs
- The browser you used and its version number
- The IP address assigned to your connection
- Which pages opened and how long each one stayed on screen
- The site that referred you here, when one exists
- The date and time attached to each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Small files called cookies are placed on your device as you browse. They show us how readers move through the site, including which pages draw the most visits and where people stop reading. Analytics providers help us combine that traffic into reports. Cookies can be blocked at any time in your browser settings. Blocking them may change how some parts of the site behave.
What We Do With This Data
The data described above serves a short list of purposes:
- Serving search requests to the right partner service
- Measuring which pages help readers and which fall short
- Diagnosing and repairing technical faults
- Keeping the site online and loading quickly
- Displaying ads that may reflect your interests
No Warrant Data on File
No warrant database exists on this site. Warrant records and personal details about warrants are not collected, held, combined, or sold here. What we publish is plain guidance about which Assumption Parish offices keep those records and how a reader can check with them, whether that means the sheriff's office, the court that signed the order, or the office holding the file. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and none of the visitor data described above is shaped into a consumer report or a file on any third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
The search boxes here are operated by outside businesses, not by us. Details you enter into one of them fall under that business's privacy policy rather than this one. Those companies decide how long they keep data and who they share it with, and we have no say in it. Review the provider's policy before you search.
Links to Other Websites
Our pages point to sheriff's office sites, court portals, legal aid groups, and outside search services. Once you follow one of those links, you have left this site, and the destination's privacy policy takes over. Read it before you hand over personal information.
Advertising partners may also follow your browsing across websites in order to target ads. Their systems do that tracking, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is never sold by us. Even so, a few kinds of recipients may receive some of it:
- Ad networks serving ads on our pages
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Search partners handling your queries
- Courts, law enforcement, or other government bodies when a valid legal order compels disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security measures are used to protect the data we hold. No internet-connected system is ever fully secure, though. Reasonable steps are taken to keep your information safe, but a breach cannot be ruled out entirely.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults. Personal information from anyone under 18 is not knowingly collected. If you believe a minor has given us data, contact us and it will be removed promptly.
Your Data Rights
State privacy and consumer-protection law may grant you extra rights over your data, depending on where you live. In Louisiana the open-records framework is the Louisiana Public Records Law, La. R.S. 44:1 et seq., which reaches records held by public bodies, and R.S. 44:31, which gives an adult the right to inspect or copy a public record. That framework governs government offices rather than this private site. Whichever state you live in, you may ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- Correct anything that is inaccurate
- Delete your data
- Limit or refuse certain kinds of processing
